Calling All Rising and Confirmed 11th & 12th Graders!
Are you ready to lead, grow deeper in your faith, and make a lasting impact in the lives of others? Apply to join the SBYM Discipleship Team—a team of high school students dedicated to mentoring their peers and walking with them in their journey with Jesus Christ.
What Makes the Discipleship Team Unique?
Unlike the CORE Team, the Discipleship Team is made up of trained high school peer leaders who actively mentor middle and high school youth in their relationship with Christ. This is a chance to lead by example, serve with purpose, and grow in your own faith along the way.
Your Role as a Discipleship Team Member:
Accompany and mentor peers in their walk with Jesus
Grow as a servant leader in youth ministry
Share your testimony and witness to Christ's work in your life
Commit to praying for your team and the youth you serve
Team Expectations:
Attend Sunday Mass regularly
Join us for our Discipleship Team Retreat in September (Date TBD)
Participate in monthly D-Team dinners and meetings
Arrive at 2:45 PM on Sundays to help set up for Youth Ministry
Communicate regularly with youth ministers, teammates, and accountability partners
Continue your own faith formation by actively engaging in Youth Ministry sessions
Where You’ll Serve:
You’ll have the opportunity to disciple either middle or high school students and assist with Confirmation preparation:
Middle School YM: Sundays, 9:45–10:45 AM
High School YM: Sundays, 3:15–4:45 PM
Confirmation Prep: Monthly, 7:00–8:30 PM (Retreat: October 24–25, 2025)
Why Join?
Beyond mentoring others, you’ll grow as a leader, strengthen your faith, and become part of a close-knit team dedicated to making a difference. Each month, we’ll gather for a shared meal, team-building, discipleship formation, and leadership development—including planning events like the high school lock-in!
Ready to Apply?
Submit your application by May 20. The 2024 Discipleship Team will be announced June 1, and our first meeting will be on June 15 at 3:15 PM.
