Social Ministry / Justice and Peace
To fulfill certain needs for uncertain times.
Saint Bede Social Ministry touches
the lives of its parishioners and of neighbors, locally and globally. Our
values are rooted in the gospel teachings of Jesus Christ and steered
by the teachings of the Catholic Church. We are called to reach
out to people with compassion and love.
Social Ministry is committed to serving our parish and community
as faithful disciples of Jesus by promoting justice and peace, and
as responsible stewards of the gifts we receive through the benevolence
of Saint Bede parishioners and visitors.
Social Ministry is made up of several outreach ministries including Social
Outreach, Friends for Life, Haiti Outreach, and Hispanic Ministry. These
ministries provide financial assistance, feed the poor, advocate
for the unborn, and minister to our Spanish speaking families. There
are also volunteers in the parish who work closely with community
programs such as FISH and Faith
In Action.
The Social Ministry Office is located at the Parish Center, 10 Harrison
Avenue, and the hours are Monday through Thursday, 10:00 am to 4:00
pm. The telephone number is 757-253-0664.
