Development
“The measure of your giving will be the measure of your receiving.” – LUKE 6:38
At the core of Catholic development is an awareness that giving is giving to God-- not to our pastor, or to our church. And it means giving to a point of sacrifice for the word sacrifice means "to make holy." The Catholic spirit of giving means not caring what anyone else gives; the decision parishioners make on how much to contribute is between themselves and God. It's truly spiritual giving in every sense.
Everything we have comes from God, and when we give back, we're saying to Him, "Thank you, God, for letting me use your gifts in service to you, my family, and fellow man!”
“The true purpose of tithing is to secure not the tithe, but the tither; not the gift, but the giver; not your money, but you--for God.”
