Nursery Coordinator: The
Nursery Coordinators provide a welcoming and safe environment for
parish children ages 19 months to four years whose parents entrust
their children to the care of the nursery. This part-time
paid position entails the management of the nursery for several weekend
liturgies and the coordination of volunteers. Applicants should
enjoy working with children and share the desire to enhance our
parish by offering families with young children more opportunities
to share in our faith.

Essential Qualities and Competencies
- Basic understanding of the principles of child development
- Certification in CPR or a willingness to become certified
- Knowledge of first aid
- VIRTUS certification or willingness to become certified
- Knowledge of and compliance with diocesan policies as they apply to volunteers and to VIRTUS
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Recruit, train, monitor, certify, and schedule nursery volunteers
- Open and close the nursery for those Masses during which the nursery is in service
- Maintain a clean, safe, and neat environment in the nursery
- Maintain all required paperwork
- Develop and implement nursery guidelines, and procedures based on state and diocesan policies
- Post, update and communicate all nursery guidelines and procedures to parents and volunteers
- Maintain all needed supplies
- Ensure adequate staffing in the nursery in accordance with diocesan and state policies
- Clean and sanitize toys each week
- Check for, dispose of, and replace broken and recalled toys
- Provide appropriate materials and activities with an emphasis on religious materials and activities
- Develop and oversee a budget
- Communicate with and report to the parish Stewardship Coordinator
