Host Families Needed

Host families are needed for students attending Walsingham Academy, Hampton Roads Academy, and Peninsula Catholic High School for the 2011 – 2012 school year!  These F-1 Visa students speak English, are fully insured, and have their own pocket money for personal expenses.  Host families provide room and board and receive a monthly $600 hosting stipend.  There is 24 hour local support.  For more information, please contact:  Karen Mercer, Nacel Open Door International Private School Program at (757) 721-7345, (757) 418-3977 (Cell), or kmercer6@cox.net

Do you want to help your neighbor? Join CCM as we assist Literacy for Life in tutoring adult learners from our community. For over 30 years, we have taught adults to read, to speak English, to do math, and to receive their GEDs. Literacy for Life is looking for adult volunteers to tutor on a one-to-one basis. We will train you, provide you with materials, give you a place to meet with your learner, and support you every step of the way. No need for previous teaching experience! Stroller Strides -
Fitness for Mom and Fun for Baby!

Mom's Morning Fellowship is looking for child care providers to watch our children during our meetings on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. The hours are from 9:15 - 11:45 a.m. Williamsburg Presbyterian Church will pay $10/hour. "Williamsburg Area Meals on Wheels [MOW] has a great need for more drivers who can deliver to the same route every week or every other week. They have six different routes open. Many of their regular drivers have had to stop driving because of health issues or job changes. If you have the time and potential interest, please contact the Meals on Wheels office at 229-9250 Monday through Friday between the hours of 9a 'til Noon."

WJCC - Adult Ed Program: Are you 18+ and did not finish high school? Let us help you earn your high school credential. We offer free classes for GED, ABE and ESOL. For more information on class schedules and GED exam test dates, call. WJCC - Adult Education Program at 565-9179 or 565-9143.
