The Ecumenical/Interreligious Affairs ministry plans services and other activities in conjunction with the clergy and members from other religious groups in Williamsburg.
During the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity each January, the Ecumenical/Interreligious Affairs ministry sponsors services that are planned and attended by the Christian Churches in the greater Williamsburg community. The anniversary of September 11, 2001 has been commemorated by ecumenical and interreligious services with members of the Baptist, Catholic, Episcopal, Jewish, Lutheran, Muslim, Presbyterian, and Unitarian groups. Members attend the Virginia LARCUM (Lutheran, Anglican, Roman Catholic, United Methodist) conferences in December. The ecumenical leaders have brought together the youth and social services ministries of the churches in town to discuss projects in which all can participate for the greater good of Williamsburg and the surrounding area.
